organ improvisation at St. Peter's on
Saturday, March 10, at 10:00 am, sponsored by the
Greater Hartford
Chapter of the American Guild of Organists. The
artist is Christa Rakich,

who will also present a recital at St. Joseph's
Cathedral
at 8:00 pm the evening before. This is a special
event, and all who are interested

FIRST FRIDAY EUCHARISTIC
ADORATION is scheduled for Friday, March 2, 2007.
Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament will be from
2:00pm to 5:00pm and our organist John Nisbet
will be playing Gregorian music for meditation
from 3:45 pm to 4:30pm. From 4:30-5:00pm will be
closing prayers and Benediction. The Eucharistic
Adoration is sponsored by the Liturgy Committee,
and the focus of the Adoration will be on
vocations.
RULES AND TRADITIONS FOR LENT:
Catholics ages 14 and older should abstain
from (not eat) meat on Ash Wednesday and on
all Fridays from Ash Wednesday until Easter.
Catholics ages 18 through 59 should also
fast (eat only one full meal, and no
eating between meals) on Ash Wednesday, February
21, and on Good Friday, April 6.
A FUEL COLLECTION ENVLOPE has
been included in your monthly envelopes. With
fuel costs being well over $1,000.00 per month,
the Finance Committee decided to have the
addition of this donation. Please consider
helping St. Peters Church.
THE 2007 MASS BOOK is available
to schedule Masses on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and
Thursdays and especially Sundays during March and
April, the Lenten Season. For scheduling please
call the Rectory Office. All Masses must be paid
with in 4 weeks of scheduling.
SANCTUARY LIGHTS: Please remember
that the light may burn for good health, recovery
from illness, and in memory of family or friends.
Please call the Rectory at 224-1446. Kindly
consider a Sanctuary light, because the $10.00
donation pays for the cost of the candle.
ADULT CONFIRMATION CLASSES for
adults aged 18 or older, baptized Catholic and
have made their First Communion, will be held at
St. Thomas Seminary, 467 Bloomfield Ave.,
Bloomfield, 06002, 860-243-9465 Ext. 15 Tuesday:
April 3, 10, 17,24, and May I and 8. Please
obtain an Information Sheet from St. Peter
Rectory. It must be sent to the Office of
Religious Education before the first class. There
is a $15 fee to cover the cost of the books. All
classes meet from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. The Sacrament
of Confirmation will be celebrated at the
Cathedral of St. Joseph on May 21, 2007 at 7:30 p.m.
with registration/rehearsal at 6:30 p.m.
